Trypticon

Trypticon
Transformers: Titans Return - Hasbro

Trypticon might just be 2017's Toy of the Year.  He's one of the tallest Transformers Hasbro has ever produced (just a shade under Metroplex and Fortress Maximus, but close to Devastator) and probably the heaviest.  He has 3 modes: dinosaur, Decepticon city-base, and airship.

The dino-mode is the best: a modern but faithful homage to his Generation 1 counterpart.  He doesn't have the motorized walking feature the original did, but his legs have a better range of motion without it.  He may not have any light or sound features, but his ability to eat and swallow the tiny Headmasters figures is cool enough for me not to care.  The little robots drop down his throat and into a chest holding cell that can be opened up on his front.

The airship mode doesn't look all that different from the city mode (a couple of extra panels folded up here and there) and requires a bit of imagination to make it work.  It's definitely not the Decepticon ship, the Nemesis (Trypticon's alt-mode from the War for Cybertron video game.)  Oh, well...it's Cybertronian.

His city mode is also pretty close to G1.  There are lots of places for Headmasters to port into.  Lots of ramps and decks.  It was about time.  With Metroplex and Maximus coming out first, the Decepticons were in desperate need of a weapon this size.  Fingers crossed for Scorponok in 2018!

Trypticon comes with Full-tilt, who is close in size to a deluxe figure.  His car mode docks to Trypticon's chest, serving as more battle armor, I guess.  His head pops off and transforms into Necron, who can be seated inside the car mode.
